Wonderful thunderstorm last night, some of it seemed directly overhead. Didn't trigger any car alarms, which is an extra bonus.

Yeah. I used to be that guy, but since moving to Rome I don't seem to have any friends left in real space who are that close.

But even there, improvements have been amazing. The Economist pointed out that the previous big floods in Bangladesh killed 300,000 to 500,000 people. This time around, probably fewer than 5,000.

In fact, I bought it because it doesn't have a rechargeable battery, unlike the others which, at the time, needed charging every night. Too much clutter. And the battery lasts over a year. So really no big deal.

Garmin Vivofit. They are little Li discs but our local hardware store doesn't stock them. Had to go further afield, but all good now.

Not sure it is very new.
