In this particular case it was about a tool showing my markup as mf2 when in fact the markup is mf1. When I asked, it seemed to be obvious to almost everyone that because of backward compatibility a parser for mf2 would show mf1 as if it were mf2.

So I wasted an hour. No biggie, but still.

One of the frustrations of hanging around on the fringes of the IndieWeb is that many of them have no idea what it was like not to know something. Others are much more empathetic.
