Feeling very stupid. Spent a couple of hours trying to figure out why thing A wasn't able to see Thing B, when I could see them both clearly. Turns out Thing B was in the backup folder instead of in the proper folder, where thing A would be able to see it easily.
Still, it did make me change the name of the backup folder and the colour of everything inside it.
