@matigo Podcast downloads?
@nitinkhanna I’m aware without being snowed under by following WTFJHT [whatthefuckjusthappenedtoday.com].

@nitinkhanna I don’t, yet. WP is not my main engine. I use it for a couple of niche sites.
@nitinkhanna Fun to see you at indieweb.org. Are you in the IRC/Slack channels too?
@indigo The icons are an interesting approach to hashtags. They represent topics; books and sportsball. In my opinion the books icon has already departed a ways from its intention, which was recommendations rather than merely “read chapter 3 of Winnie the Pooh” but if that’s how people want to use it, who am I to argue.

@indigo Discover is not a global timeline. It is a curated list. But it does have a search feature that you can use to find people. And you can follow people on the Discover page and see who they are interacting with.

@indigo There isn’t, but there could be.
The point is not that it uses RSS but that the html contains machine-readable markup called microformats. This tells capable apps who the author is, what kind of post it is (reply, favourite etc), what the content is, if there is a photo, etc etc. Webmentions send the post and its metadata out and the receiving app then decides what to do with it, how to display and so on.
Webmention and mucroformats are the crucial elements. RSS is just one possible channel.
