I thought your charger lived by the bedside. :P

The footnotes do not need to be numbered at all, but they do need to be unique. So [this] could be one footnote and [this] would be the same footnote and footnote number repeated, but [that] would be a new footnote and a new number, incremented automatically.

[this]: a demonstration of something

[that]: A different demonstration

Interesting point, though. If a new line begins with [ there are a few things it could be, all of which depend on what's happening elsewhere. And if it isn't the start of a new line, it could be something else.

Fun.

that's what I live for.

The text of the footnote does not need to be at the end of the original mmdown. It can be anywhere, separated by empty lines.

This is what I do.[^1]

[^1]: Because it is the way I think Multimarkdown works.

Ha. I've just written a post including that sentiment.

P.s. I'm away from tomorrow till Sunday.

I do. A nice big one about 2 metres off to the left. I keep the shutter half down to keep the heat out, but it is still very pleasant.

Hey . Can you please remind me of the footnote format that 10C's Markdown uses. Thanks.
