Not sure I agree with wekest first. I would go with a U-shaped curve of strength, with the weak arguments, such as they are, in the middle, and good strong points as openers and closers.

Very hard to know how (or even whether) to respond. I recognise that your feelings are very real, and have no wish to downplay that. And yet, you do recognise that in a sense it isfrustration and nervous energy driving those feelings.

On balance, I reckon you are doing the right thing, retiring to a place where you feel comfortable and doing a bit of processing.
