I've no desire to steal your thunder, and I agree with you violently, but I have to point out that this isn't your theory. It is the theory on which the whole business is built, and it has been articulated by those whose lives depend on it. They know perfectly well what they're doing, and what they're doing isn't subliminal. But it does take some self-knowledge to understand why you are so unhappy because you don't have that Crown X or whatever.
