@matigo Yup. Thanks. Solved it with a little deeper digging. Instead of just reading the file, I use cat
to set the variable to the contents of the file and that works well.
I've got a problem but I am not sure I even know the correct words to ask it. In essence, I have a file that contains, for example, I’ve learned
When I read that into a variable (in Applescript, i know, don't judge, I'm taking baby steps here) it renders as I’ve learned
I cannot for the life of me see how to read the file and maintain the formatting. Read as Unicode turns it into complete rubbish.
I suspect there is a simple answer, but as I say I'm not sure even how to ask the question.
Once a month, I clean up all the Ds; desktop, downloads, dropbox, documents and dustbin. A small thing, but I find it helps me keep on top of things.
@hazardwarning In primary school we visited the local newspaper, and I got my name as a slug from a Linotype machine. I credit that with triggering my interest in journalism.
@hazardwarning Glad that helped. I think part of the problem may be that cloudflare is too tight with partners so that if you do anything yourself it breaks things.
