As far as I can tell, it uses RSS to display a stream of comments from other people's microblogs, and in so doing allows you to respond to them on your own microblog. So it represented a social site that does not have a central repository and is more in keeping with indieweb ideas. But that's just my take on it.

That could be tricky as it is not a complete archive as far as I know. But it is a pretty comprehensive sample. And it does not rely on cooperation from the broadcasters, which might prove handy.
