@kdfrawg He wasn't the only one, even at the time. But he'll do as a figure head.

Fair enough.

//

Why, if I may ask?

//

Is it the Paris of the North? Or the Athens? I always forgot. Still, one of the most livable British cities, IMHO.

//

It isn't the keeping I'm worried about; that's with Pinboard for the foreseeable. It's the lovely clean presentation of Instapaper for reading.

//

I reckon you'll soon be ready to plunge into Ian Rankin's Inspector Rebus series of books.

What will you use instead? If anything.

//

I'm cautiously optimistic.

On Twitter, Maclej said:

The “we sold to Pinterest but nothing is changing” email is Instapaper’s equivalent of reassuring grandma about her move to a nursing home

//

Sentiment at the announcement on line is overwhelmingly negative, citing past history of similar acquisitions. As I said, I'll wait and see.

//

Just read the email myself. They promise no change. We shall see. If there's not going to be any change, then why make the move? For resources, they say, but why not stick to the paid model and keep on being great?

I'm puzzled.

I wont cancel my subscription or anything like that until I notice some deterioration.
