Did you hear The Food Programme's two parter?

Dunno whether you say this crass headline -- Fighting rages in Aleppo despite global anger at image of injured child [theguardian.com] -- in The Guardian, no less, but it provoked me to a snarky reaction over on Twitter.

It's that "despite" that gets me, as if there's some causal link.

Sad!

As bad as Paris

Now that's saying something.

We need to keep things shorter.

Well, I won't claim I have done everything I needed to do today, but I've done a lot of things that I wanted to do, and in the end that's more satisfactory all round.

Wow. That was quick. Better have a listen, if I can find it. <lame joke>

@kdfrawg
In my experience bicarbonate of soda is more effective than salt at shifting burnt stuff.

Not that big, but packed with pots.

@kdfrawg I think you're right. A good thick sauce would not convect well, and once the bottom had started to burn it would just get worse.

I've had similar sorts of things happen when making jam. You stir, and there is a whoosh of superheated stuff from the bottom.

I hope you can clean it off.

@kdfrawg Holy crap
