@kdfrawg Yum.

That's interesting. I don't think you need to ask permission for that, although you might want to notify people. Two gotchas of which I've become aware. One is that direct download links don't work now for so many shows that host via a silo like SoundCloud. That's something I'm going to continue to complain about whenever I get the opportunity. The second is related, which is that I subscribe to a couple of newsletters about podcasts, and they happily link to shows hosted in such a way, so that it becomes hard to listen to even a single episode -- so I don't bother.

But I'd say, go for it.

Heard a good trail for a new one from Tim Harford, 50 things that created the economic world, or some such. On BBC world service. Might well subscribe.

I think I just get to show up and scoff, which is also a nice thing.

For the first time in many years I am not responsible for Christmas dinner, and I am enjoying that. I enjoy being responsible too, but this makes a very pleasant change.

@kdfrawg Not quite, but close.

@kdfrawg The worst part was traipsing the streets looking for a pub that wasn't hosting at least three office parties full over drunk middle management and squealing underlings.

I have only ever heard of hectolitres.

Survived a visit to family with no overt traumas and enjoyed the rest of the time in London immensely.

Good point.
