I'm hoping that with an airlock I don't have to risk life and limb packing 3 litres of cabbage into a two litre jar. Might repack once it has softened a bit.

@matigo, why am I allowed to choose more than one photo to upload on the phone, if only one will be displayed? And has the other one been uploaded? One way to check that, I suppose.
@indigo 2% brine, with three cloves of garlic smashed and a few slices of fresh ginger.
The previous time I tried carrots I did them dry, with salt but no extra liquid, and they went a bit slimy.
I'm having quite a satisfyingly busy day.
